Blizzard Entertainment has announced the new patch for WOTLK Classic called Eternity's End. The patch is the biggest story update that the player has received since patch 9.1 which was released on June 29 2022. A few months ago the developer announced patch 9.1.5 that was a smaller update mainly focused on improving the quality of life. It also brought back some famous features such as The Mage Tower challenges. The releases of new content to the game have been delayed in recent months due to the imminent Activision Blizzard lawsuit and subsequent results. The announcement of the latest patch, Blizzard is likely hoping to rekindle interest in World of Warcraft, which has been battling with successful MMORPGs like Final Fantasy XIV.

WoW's current story update, Chains of Domination, ended in a thrilling finale when the champions of Azeroth did not have the ability to defeat the expansion's main antagonist, The Jailer. The Jailer had won the battle The Jailer's villain made his way through a mysterious portal at the end of the final encounter which left Sylvanas Windrunner to the mercy to the Azeroth champions. Before leaving, he infused her with a soul shard, prompting players to speculate about Sylvanas possibility of a possible redemption. It was also the last raid-related content that was added to the game, leaving avid players with very little to do in the last few months.

Today in a developer preview posted on the World of Warcraft YouTube channel, Blizzard Entertainment revealed the new major update for the expansion Eternity's End. As further detailed in a post published on the World of Warcraft website, this will continue the story immediately following those events in patch 9.1 as the heroes pursue The Jailer deep into the primordial and mysterious realm of the First Ones. Zereth Mortis is an ethereal realm created by the protogenitor race that shaped the cosmos to be used as their workshop. There, players will encounter an ancient race known as automata which serves as guardians of the world in addition to an old-fashioned group of the familiar Brokers. The dungeon raid Sepulcher from The First Ones will also come as part of the new update. The players will have to face an adversary in the form of corrupted prince Anduin Wrynn along with The Jailer. Many are speculating that this will make the expansion to its conclusion.

The preview also outlined some additional features to be added in the next update. It will include the return the tiered armor sets that are specific to each class. Although they're not brand new however, they were discarded during the Battle for Azeroth expansion in favor of sets separated only by armor type. Season 3 of all World of Warcraft PvP and Mythic+ Dungeons will be beginning with this new adventure. Conduits, professions and Soulbinds will be updated as players progress further into the story small additions will include mounts as well as pets. There's also a dancing mini-game coming for The Darkmoon Fair.
