While multiplayer is still the preferred way to play Monster Hunter Rise, the new Follower Quest will provide solo players with a new option for doing quests. Follower Quests permit an NPC to be a part of certain fights, as well as advance the plots of other sidequests. Capcom has stated that further Follower Quests will be added in the near future.
