  • But I can't deny there lots of boring as items as you state, to get through. I do those when I'd have been seeing netflix/YouTube/whatever other non intensive hobby anyhow, not the other way round. I also listen to lots of songs - it could give me some thing to"do" but not actually requiring my mind, letting me focus 95% over the symphony or record or anything. I love that about Osrs. Feel like watching a episode or 2 of the sopranos? Eh let us also do some agility and toss on osrs.

It's about achieving and setting goals. Imo, Runescape isn't really like other point and click games because there's an end in sight that is also attainable if you put your mind to it. Other clickers I've played don't have that ceiling so setting goals seems more useless if there's no actual end. Also bear in mind Runescape was basically designed to be a text-based match such as old computer OSRS gold games from the 80s, but with more interactive visuals to align with the text choices. That's basically why all has an investigation option despite it with no significant intent.

Everquest was even worse by PoP. Whatever would be fun just like skilling you can knock out in a day, however it had been so click intensive (envision smelting rune ore and you had to click each individual coal, but for everything you make). Leveling was excruciating, like RS you sit at a single camp, well that's if you can solo and just a couple classes could. Only a couple could really semi-afk, a whole lot you needed to kite things around and it was a lot easier to perish than cheap RS gold since xp tapered off quickly on monsters over a few levels below you. After months of grinding you reach max level 65. Oh and by this point, soloing is almost non-existant, because anything which will give experience at this point is pretty much in a raid zone. On the other hand, RuneScape game did promote socializing. I want it had quests. The raids were fun for its day though.

Maybe it was how you described it, but unlike RuneScape game sounds like it was specifically designed to dissuade years of dumb grinding that literally ruins lives in games such as RuneScape or WoW. Just sounds like a fundamental buzz kill how XP works long-term. EQ was far worse than WoW together with grinding, and even moreso than RS. It is the exact opposite. RuneScape game ended up placing the ability to purchase Pizza Hut straight into RuneScape game, this was like ~2004. The whole culture around RuneScape game places the South Park WoW episode to pity. While individuals were skilling and questing in RS in EQ individuals were hitting assault and standing for 5 minutes at a time. RS is a lot more easy going in comparison.
