Mumbai and India player Prithvi Shaw can be the next Virender Sehwag, former India cricketer, as well as the legend of domestic cricket, Wasim Jaffer has recently said. While talking to former India opener Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel, Jaffer revealed that Shaw is similar to Sehwag but also added that he should improve awareness of his game also.

"I think he is a special player, without a doubt. The shots he hits, if he gets going, he has the ability of Virender Sehwag I feel,” Jaffer told Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel. "He can completely demolish an attack.

He further added, "But somewhere I feel he needs to understand his game better, where he needs to take a backseat. I feel he got found out a little bit in New Zealand, got dismissed two times off a short delivery. He fell into their trap."

Prithvi Shaw, the Under-19 India captain, successfully led his side to the World Cup win in 2018 and tasted a fair share of success as well. He has so far played four Tests and three ODIs for India and opened in the two Tests in New Zealand earlier this year. But he only managed to score 98 runs across four innings which also included a half-century.

However, on the other hand, the youngster has also issues with discipline in the past also. He was even banned for few months failing a dope test last year. Meanwhile, Wasim Jaffer, who played for Mumbai and Vidarbha, commented that Prithvi Shaw should get more disciplined if he wants to succeed in international cricket.

"I also feel that he needs to get more disciplined in his off-field life. Because I feel he has the game to succeed at international level. But he needs to be a lot more disciplined outside cricket also," he further added.
